Take the next step
Less hair. Less shaving. Less hassle.
Professional IPL hair removal using Lynton EXCELIGHT technology.
Suitable for treating multiple areas of the face and body.
Most clients require at least 6 sessions, although the number required varies between individuals and treatment areas.
Treatments are spaced according to the hair-growth cycle - typically several weeks apart
You cannot wax or tweeze the hair between treatments but shaving is fine.
Results aren't about removing every single hair overnight. IPL works progressively, reducing the number and thickness of actively growing hairs over a course of treatments.
Your IPL hair removal consultation is completely FREE, with no obligation to purchase a treatment course.
We'll tell you honestly whether you're suitable, what results you could reasonably expect and how many treatments you're likely to need.
Your skin isn't a test subject.
IPL hair removal isn't something we believe should be approached with a “one machine, one setting, off you go” mentality.
At Skin Sanctuary, your treatment is tailored to you.
Your skin.
Your hair.
Your treatment area.
Your medical history.
Your previous hair-removal methods.
And how your skin responds throughout your course.

Your consultation takes around 30 minutes and gives us the opportunity to establish whether IPL Hair Removal is suitable for you.

Skin Sanctuary is an award-winning, family-run skin and wellness clinic in Trentham, Staffordshire.
Our team specialises in advanced skin, laser and IPL treatments, with ongoing professional training and development.
We use the Lynton EXCELIGHT IPL system, manufactured in Britain by Lynton, a long-established UK manufacturer of light-based aesthetic technology. EXCELIGHT is CE-marked and Lynton has NHS supplier status.
Our clinic is privately located within the grounds of Trentham Park Golf Club.
That means no busy high-street treatment room.

No feeling like you're on display.
Instead, you'll find a discreet, private clinic surrounded by greenery, with plenty of free parking and a calm environment designed around your comfort.

Your results aren't just about the person delivering your treatment.
The technology matters too.
We chose Lynton EXCELIGHT because Lynton is a British manufacturer specialising in advanced light-based technology, with more than 30 years of experience and NHS supplier status.
The EXCELIGHT system is designed for professional clinical environments and offers dedicated IPL technology for permanent hair reduction, alongside other advanced skin treatments.
That gives us the technology, treatment flexibility and clinical control to tailor your treatment rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
No obligation. No pressure. Just expert advice about whether IPL hair removal is right for you.
This includes recent sun exposure, sunbeds and fake tan.
IPL targets pigment within the hair follicle. Having increased pigment in the skin can affect how the light is absorbed and may increase the risk of an adverse reaction.
So if you're a dedicated sunbed user, regularly use fake tan or have a winter sun holiday coming up, IPL may not fit easily into your lifestyle.
We'll discuss this honestly at your consultation.
IPL relies on pigment in the hair to absorb the light energy.
That means very blonde, grey, white and some red hairs may not respond effectively.
Shaving leaves the hair within the follicle for IPL to target.
Waxing and tweezing remove the hair from the follicle, which means there may be little for the IPL energy to target.
For your consultation, please leave the hair visible and unshaven.
Hair grows in cycles.
IPL is most effective when hairs are in the appropriate growth phase, which is why treatments need to be repeated at carefully planned intervals.
You may notice a reduction in growth after your first few treatments, but your final results develop progressively throughout your course.
We will never promise you an identical result to somebody else's before-and-after photograph.
Your outcome depends on factors including skin type, hair colour, hair thickness, treatment area, hormones and hair-growth cycle.
That's why your consultation comes first.
Please reach us at hello@skin-sanctuary.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.
No - IPL and laser are different technologies. IPL uses a broad spectrum of light, whereas laser hair removal uses a specific wavelength of laser light. Both can be used for long-term hair reduction, but the technology, treatment parameters and suitability differ. At Skin Sanctuary, we use professional IPL technology from Lynton for our hair-reduction treatments.
A successful course can significantly reduce hair growth with remaining hairs often becoming finer and lighter. Some clients may require maintenance treatments over time.
We recommend a minimum of 6 treatments for most clients. However, the number varies depending on the treatment area, hair characteristics, skin type and individual response. Some people require additional sessions. We'll give you a realistic recommendation at your consultation.
Treatment intervals depend on the area being treated and the hair-growth cycle. We'll advise you on the appropriate timing for your individual treatment plan.
Most clients describe IPL as feeling like a quick warm snap or flick against the skin. Everyone's sensitivity is different, and the sensation can vary depending on the treatment area, hair density and individual tolerance. We'll explain exactly what to expect before your first treatment.
Yes.
In fact, shaving is the preferred method of hair removal between treatments. Avoid waxing, threading, epilating or tweezing because these remove the hair from the follicle that IPL needs to target.
Not while the tan is present.
Your skin needs to be free from fake tan before treatment. We'll explain the required preparation at your consultation.
Potentially, but timing matters.
Sun exposure and tanning can affect your suitability for treatment, so please tell us about any upcoming holidays or significant sun exposure when booking your consultation. If you're planning a winter sun holiday, book your consultation before you go so we can discuss your options.
Please don't shave the treatment area immediately before your consultation.
We need to see the hair so that we can properly assess its colour, thickness and suitability.
